How long have you been a photographer?
I feel like I’ve been a photographer…forever, BUT for a technical answer, I shot my first wedding 8 years ago. I’ve been in business for myself full time since 2011, and I’ve been booked solid for weddings, families, newborns, and boudoir ever since. I love it! We just recently counted my weddings, and I’m up to nearly 160! Doesn’t even seem possible, but it is!
Why do you have the engagement session in all the packages?
I really like to go out and get to know my couple before the big day. We all get a little weird when a camera is around. I find that the E session gets people really comfortable around me AND taking pictures. Most people are super nervous, but after 5 minutes they realize there’s nothing to it. I like my sessions and shooting style to be very laid back, fun, and really showcase the personalities of who I’m photographing. When people, especially grooms, see that…they get really comfortable around me which makes for gorgeous wedding photos!
How quickly do I get to see my photos?
I get your proofs done asap. I know when someone snaps my picture, I want to see them right then! I know how hard it is to wait to see your wedding pics (or any session for that matter) so I have them edited and online in no time. Generally for an engagement session, I have them edited and online for you to see THAT day or the following day (E-session ends up at around 250-300 pics). For the wedding photos, they end up at around 1,000-1,500 photos, and I have them edited and online generally by the time you’re back from your honeymoon…or a week or w after, depending on what month we’re in (how crazy busy I am). Oh and PS, I take out all the blink or bad pictures so you don’t have to go through them. =) #3.5) I also get your album done asap. Most companies suggest 6 months. Once you give me your photo selections, we have the design done within just a few weeks. And once the design is approved, it’s finalized and ready for pickup in about a week or two. My goal from shooting to turn around times is to exceed your expectations.
What do you shoot with?
I have excellent equipment. I shoot with canon 5d mark iii as a main and backup camera. It records at almost 22 megapixels. I have many really great low light lenses, powerful flashes, etc.
Do you back up my photos?
I am crazy about backing up!!! I hear so many horror stories about failed hard drives. I keep at least 2 copies of your event on different drives at all times. Everything is stored in a fireproof safe that stays in a safe place! ANNNDDDDD all my images are archived online as well.
What does the timeline of the wedding look like?
We usually arrive 3 hours before the start of the wedding. This gives us time to photograph all your special details (dress, shoes, rings, etc) and your “getting ready” shots as well as capture fun candids of you each hanging out with your bridesmaids, groomsmen and family. If you opt to do a First Look, we'll need 45 minutes - 1.5 hours more. This depends on if you choose to do all of your formal bridal party shots in advance of the ceremony as well. This usually allows us the proper amount of time to focus on your bride & groom portraits too! During the ceremony we tend to be more photojournalistic - just capturing the moments as they happen. After the ceremony, we'll take about 20-30 minutes to capture your family formals and then sneak in another 15 minutes or so with just the two of you. If we time it right - we hope to do these around sunset because they'll be gorgeous! During the reception we gear back into a photojournalistic approach and we catch all the important moments as well as fun candids while you two have fun with your family and friends!
Where will my engagement shoot take place?
That’s entirely up to you! However, we do not have a studio by choice. We are primarily natural light photographers and prefer to shoot in that environment to achieve our aesthetic. We definitely customize the sessions to fit our clients. Again, with being "non-posey" we want this shoot to reflect who you two are. So think about what your favorite things to do together are, or a favorite spot in town and we can design a shoot around that. Or maybe you'd just like simple pictures at the beach or a park - and that's great too!
Why do you love engagement sessions?
We love them because it gives us a chance to get to know each other, make friends and just have some fun. Then on your wedding day you’ll know how we work and you’ll be more relaxed. Who wants a stranger showing up on their wedding day shoving a camera in their face? You’d much rather have a friend that you are already comfortable with, right? – and we prefer it that way too. We are the only vendor who will be by your side your entire day - wouldn't it be more relaxed if you knew us?
What happens if you're sick?
Since we started shooting, we have never missed one wedding. If there was an emergency, we would make all of the arrangements for a professional wedding photographer with our similar style to take our place.
What Equipment do you use?
We shoot with all Canon equipment. All digital SLR bodies with an assortment of professional lenses and speed lights. For lighting equipment, we prefer natural light over artificial light, but we have equipment to handle low-lit situations!

4-6 weeks for engagements and 6-8 weeks for weddings is our normal turnaround time.
Now that we know we love you guys (awww thanks) how do we book your for our wedding?
To secure your date, we require a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer.
What if we cancel, is our retainer refundable?
Once we have received your contract and retainer, all monies paid are non-refundable. Since we take a limited number of weddings each year, we have set aside your date for you and you alone, and have had to turn other brides away who have inquired about your date.
